67 was easy to paint and decal but the modified hood took some work.

#2 Sebring car painted, not looking forward to putting small red pin stripe decals between the 2 colors. #12 roadster ready for clear coat.

65slotcar, Both body shells look darn good to me. As for the red pin stripes, I'd say you got it dead on.

Up until now I didn't know there were red pinstripes on that car, I'd be tempted to leave them off. Looks great the way it is.

correct Paul, the coupe gets a red a stripe between the two colors. a small stripe on the real car and the decals for model are not exact scale. the roadster did get a red stripe also, but straight on a some what flat surface.

65slotcar, from the last picture, I'd say that you nailed those red stripes just fine.

The whole paint job and decals look great 65. That roadster is one of my ALL time Vettes.

I always liked the factory Roadster that was shown at a Notre Dame car show back in 65 or so with the louvered hood and head rest. I had the Silver "Exoto" 1/18 but sold all the 1/18 GS's and Chaparrals JUST TOO BIG! 1/24 is my niche. Always had a question on the Roadster: What was the EXACT color? The Silver looks great but I want the Metallic Blue. The 57 Corvette SS appeared in a one off metallic blue that is hard to pin down and I believe the GS Roadster was the same color. Any help out there? Thanx, John

Very nice. I would have stopped at the "I give up" step.

VERY NICE! That would have been my Plan A. No way I'd try decals for that. I hate decals.
Thanks,

Wow!! Plan B worked like a charm. That's some job of masking to get those pin stripes that perfect. I've used the Indy Cal Gold pin striping on the the JPS Lotus 72E, and it was a real "Bitch". Got it close but no one area was perfect or even that close, and it literally took days and days with a ton of frustration.

Wow! That took Big Ones to attempt in my book, and the result is right on! I don't think that is a masking job I would have even considered.. Bravo Save Well Done! Chris

Amazing job on the pin stripes! I am in agreement with everyone that even attempting it took some courage and talent!
Well done... well done!

thanks guys for all the positive feedback. always appreciated and motivating. V-R-M Decals are very good and have had great luck with them. i layed out the number decal and the white was a little transparent over the blue . so i put down a blank number circle first from the accurate miniatures kit.
