I have found a little so far on the this race, "1963 Dodgers Stadium GP" , the second of two races run around the outside of Dodgers stadium in Los Angeles, a very interesting race that is surely a shame that it never continued. It would be a huge hit today being a few miles from Hollywood and all the cities that make up Los Angeles. a interesting 10 turn track that had ton of spectator viewing anf some of the best Racer's of the time. I am going to keep researching this and the 1962 race and will up date this thread based on my research. The two Cobras in the photos are quite interesting being both #98 with an 1 or 2 in front of the actual number. and the Competition, the "Corvette #614" Yup! Stay Tuned...... Chris

The first and as it turned out last Grand Prix of Washington DC (2002) also used a temporary track created from the parking lots around RFK Stadium.

That DC race was very popular. Sold out in days and people lined up all 3 days to get in to shop the vendors. Made tons of money as well. But the town fathers decided it was just too noisy for their sensitive ears. Being DC, I guess they couldn't extort the organizers so they wouldn't let them come back.

Candlestick Park. love the safety standards back then , racing by what looks like a light pole and spectators just behind a hay bail
