Chris, Thanks for sharing with us your relationship with Bill. He did share with me his list feelings all the time, and we did have some very spirited conversations about it. He did share with me some of yours and Ismael's conversations and points of view from time to time. Hard to believe that those times are now gone for good. Even when Bill left the list, we still emailed regularly.
I did take your suggestion and sent Marcy this thread's address so that she can follow it whenever she's wants to.

Wow , this hit me like a Ton O' Bricks. Bill and I had an interesting relationship. He was suffering from depression brought on by his his long battle with Cancer, he would write me almost daily telling me that he was leaving because " The Guys on the Forum are only interested in Porsche"s and Ferrari's . I had the hardest time convincing him that wasnt the truth , we were all only interested in sharing our builds, methods and experience. Bill was beyond a Great modeler, his Chevy Cruise was a masterpiece, the skill he showed us during his build was more important than where the real race car came from. He was a stickler on Photos and would have me delete his pic's and posts on a regular basis because he didnt feel they were up to snuff. I reassured him on a daily basis and tried to make him understand how important he was to all of Us. Finally he asked me to delete all of his posts because, that was it and he was leaving, I did what he asked , although You will find many under the name "Deleted" We had so many discussions about Technique and How a certain result was achieved, I learned a lot from Bill about Model Building and Life, after my stroke in Dec. I missed those talks as I found him stimulating and despite his lack of confidence, always a True World Class modeler. My Condolences go out to his family and others who were a big part of his life. R.I.P. Bill Brown You are already Missed. Chris I would like to have anyone who knows how to contact Bill's Family to forward this thread, so they will know just how special Bill was to all of us. Well said Chris, very well said. I can relate to that type of thing as I am very hard on myself when it comes to the details of my builds so even though I did not get the opportunity to meet Bill it sounds like we may have had a few things in common.
I just hope he found some peace at the end.

WOW!!! this has floored me. I knew he wasn't posting and some of his posts were deleted....but this (to me) came from left field. Bill and I used to PM each other a lot about music. He was a drummer and that's exactly the same instrument that I've played for 60yrs. We would exchange different thoughts on drum kits and the type of music we played. He also told me that him and his wife worked together in their music career. Now that is very AWESOME. We also shared ideas about racing and the different types. Rest in Peace Bill....your pain is no more.

Gary, I'm really amazed at just how many members Bill actually pm'd/emailed with. He certainly wasn't shy in those one on one's nor confrontational, yet online here he just never felt very comfortable.
Bill was one of my closest friends here, and no matter what I just couldn't get him to relax and enjoy the ride here. Eventually he went the one on one way, and re-joined his old modeling club. I do still miss our spirited conversations.

Never knew him as I am fairly new to the group but the loss of anyone for any reason is a loss to us all. At my age, I count my blessings when I make new friends such as I have found here. I often come here for my daily dose of what I used to call "rub ups" when I worked in hospitals. Just rubbing up against another human being was essential and I get that here quite frequently.
My thoughts to you, Joel, and to your friend's family. I didn't know him but I feel as though I did after reading all the tributes. And you all have moved to me to start wearing at least an N95 while rattle spraying. I can't buy a decent respirator set up right now due to the 'Rona but I will!
God bless you all!

Patrick, I use to use a painters mask that I got at Home Depot until I bought a real respirator. Worked pretty good and they weren't very expensive. Painting without a mask is asking for issues down the line for sure.
