Ismael, For a build that you aren't thrilled with, you're doing an exceptional job on it.

Hello, This is only a test. I polished the roof. I can start now polishing the rest of the car. A bit hard to photograph but you get the idea. Yep, it is a SYLVANIA bulb Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Wow!! that's one heck of a mile deep shine.
Are you polishing by hand or machine, and if so what machine as I can't find one that's perfect for polishing plastic. And naturally, what polishes are you using?

I had been thinking about the white wax/powder build up in the door, hood, trunk etc. lines on several of my builds, then one day at the Dollar Store I see a Toothbrush made from Bamboo fibers, kind of grey looking bristles, Soft grade and interesting. I brought it home and tried it..it works great , doesnt get build up on the bristles, doesnt scratch the paint and does the job. For a Buck it was a good investment, give one a try... Chris

Chris, Thanks for the tip. I've been experimenting with plain water through my air brush which does work to some degree.

Hello,
Thanks guys! Joel, my machine is powered by elbow grease. It is all by hand. My polishing method has been developed and tuned over the years. I started with George Bojaciuk's method about 20 years ago and modified it to my needs. In this case, after the clear was dry for a few weeks, I wet-sanded using the 4000 pad. In this case I skipped the 6000, 8000 and 12,000 (in a serious plastic model I'd go all the way up to 12,000). Then I polished using Meguiar's #2 Fine Cut Cleaner, followed by Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover, followed by Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze. At the end I do a final cleanup with BMF plastic polish to remove any residue. For buildup in the panel lines, I sharpen a toothpick to a little blade that is very fine but flexible. Occasionally, after a model is done I may do a final waxing with Liquid Glass wax.
Thanks, Ismael

Ismael,
I use the same machine as you do, but I silly as it seems, I'm not that consistent throughout the entire polishing process. I've seen some of the better modelers on You Tube use a polisher not a hand electric drill with amazing results. I'm thinking of looking at the better women's finger nail polishing machines.
I've been using the 3 part Gravity system plus their wax, and ran out of 2 of the 3 compounds, so I bought the Novus system as the Gravity system is just nuts in price. The Novus works ok, but a step or two below what I would get with the Gravity system. I'm going to head on over to one of my local Auto stores and pick up those compounds that you use. Plus I can use it on my coupe.

Hello, Interior is nothing to write home about. So I painted black and tinted the glass to hide it as much as possible. Added seatbelts. I better hurry because the more I work on this the more I dislike it... Thanks, Ismael

Nothing to dislike from here, looking really good! Black interiors are the way to go on Vettes anyway, no distractions!

Ismael, Agreed on a C8R kit. Because of you, I've been really thinking about starting to buy, collect, and even build some Corvettes. Coming from a Ford & Porsche guy, I could get into a whole lot of trouble for that confession.

I like Corvettes. My brother-in-law has a better than new 77 in his garage that he never drives. I am extremely jealous.

Paul, Is it just a show car? I hate to think that it never sees the light of day.
