LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Presenting... my 2020... Rapid Blue... Mid engined... C8 Corvette! [crowd cheers as lights turn on to a vibrant rock music tune!] (Opps, the right tire is sticking out in this pic. that has been corrected) Ok, I'm glad this is over. As I have said countless times already, this car is so nice it deserves a proper scale model. I control what I show you, so I'm showing the best of it. But the truth is that this is still a sow's ear of a cheap toy diecast with mediocre fit and details. Having this been a proper model I would probably have done a proper Z51 with 3LT blue or tan interior. The paint job put a fight. While not bad, this is nowhere near any of my best paint jobs but it looks good from a few feet away. Mods include tons of bodywork, added mirror faces, valve stems, license plate, inspection sticker and seatbelts Paint is Scalefinishes authentic C8 Rapid Blue lacquer with 500 series clear Tinted windshield and rear engine cover to disguise the poor interior All black trim was hand painted (a royal pain in the...) as it is all molded in What do you think? Thanks, Ismael

I love it.
But having followed what you went through, I'll wait for a (hopefully) better kit!!

I have that same diecast, Ismael, in Elkhart Lake Blue that a coworker gave me for my birthday, so I can really see and appreciate all you've done with this. Beautiful job! Are you ready to do mine?!!!

Ismael, I never doubted for a min that you wouldn't cross the finish line with your C8 2020 Corvette. The overall look of the finished replica (?) in your pictures does look pretty darn good. You should be proud of your accomplishment, as most modelers at my skill level would have long ago donated the die cast to the local recycling center so that it could be put to better use.
I'm sure that much sooner then later a C8R will be kitted, and that you'll once again create a proper Ismael master Piece.

That turned out great! I saw that very car a couple of days ago, except it had gunmetal wheels.
It sucks that often the only way to get a model of a particular subject is to go with a die cast. That’s why I have a couple on my shelf. I just don’t have the guts to rework them like you do!
I’m sure we’ll eventually see a good C8 kit. Hopefully it will be Tamiya and not Revell. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a good C8R, too.
