Hello Guys, This has been a difficult kit to build because the suspension chassis attachment point nubs are too small/short and chrome suspension holes and clamp joints must be opened up. To top it all off THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCORRECT! I use my reference photos and period magazines while assembling and after gluing the rear shocks on per instructions noted nubs too short to attach upper and lower control arms. MPC placed coil shocks ahead of engine/suspension cradle. My McKee reference shows shocks behind cradle allowing control arms enough attachment points. Thankfully I have two kits but am attempting to break the glue joints and reassemble. My mention that the McKee can be used for the Thompson Skate car still holds even more now with the shocks moved behind the cradle. ALSO: Found the AMT 289 Cobra instructions incorrect: the front and rear brake calipers are reversed and the tie rod is to the rear instead of in front of the suspension cradle. Again proven by looking at reference while I build. Hope I save someone some grief. Thanx, John

Hi Guys, Have to move from my abode in a week so I'm thrashing on my original McKee Chevette Dick Doane owner/Driver made from an MPC Can-Am (Howmet turbine car). Lots of assembling and disassembling to get things to fit. Modified rear shock location, built transaxle from Muncie 4-speed. Side-draft fuel injection is from Unknown AMT Vette or Camaro (I need to get a couple more manifold and injectors, anyone identify?). The body NOSE is a Tamiya Lotus 30 REAR with engine opening closed and radiator/brakes inlet made. Will soon have to pack up all my projects until I get a place to stay. Attaching links,(if they don't open correctly can you assist "Articfox"?). Thanx, John
