The Alfa Romeo GTAm (1969–1971) could produce up to 180 kW or 240 hp in the 2000 cc car. The car had a full steel body modified with aluminium and / or plastic parts. The genuine GTAm's were built by Autodelta, Alfa Romeos competition division. The GTA won the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) also in 1967 and 1968. The later Alfa Romeo GTAm won further ETCC titles in 1970 and 1971. These cars won hundreds of races before competition grew stronger in 1971. Alfa also enjoyed great success in the U.S.A. winning with both the GTA and GTAm. Gunze Sangyo released their 1/24 kit of the 2000 GTAm firtly as part of their high-tech range which included metal and photoetch parts. They captured the muscular lines of GTAm with its bulging guard extensions and racing stance. Straight forward build of a no engine detail kit with the upgraded parts bringing more realism. Hope you enjoy. Steve Hansford Melbourne, Australia. Facebook: www.facebook.com/fazmodeller
