Seein' as how they aren't really stock anymore and haven't been for quite a while, I guess they oughta change the title to National Association for Spec Car Auto Racing, eh?

Don't know what the Manufacturers' spend on their NASCAR programs but surprised frankly that they continue to support the series. Very little of the NASCAR technology would transfer over to modern production cars.

I'm only watching it because there's nothing else on TV.

The only Nascar racing I watch are the road course races, and next year they've got 4 or 5 on the schedule. The rest of the year is pretty boring watching basically every car turn left for hours on end, and Nascar now with stages, way to many yellows in order to keep the field bunched up.
What was a great concept has turned in a closed wheel spec series, and there's nothing more boring then restrictor plate races.

They still race? Last I heard places like Bristol, TN were hosting Collage Football games and the grandstands were being removed to other venues.

N.A.S.C.A.R. finally started using Fuel Injection like a year ago? And they control it via little black boxes that are tamper proof? They are still using 66 Chevy Pick up rear suspensions , so much for technology and exciting cars. I am also disappointed in Indy Cars now they are all Dallara chassis and bodies with NO modifications allowed? I would like to see what Penske could build these days if allowed.. Remember when Indy was Run What Ya Brung and there would be 25 different cars out of 33.. now that was racing...and some cheating thrown in for the heck of it,, Go Smokey Yunick! Chris

Many years ago, I got to go to a lot of races as part of my job. To this day, the only races I find mildly interesting are the road courses. Oval races are like watching Skittles get flushed down the toilet. The fact all the cars look exactly the same is another issue. Same goes for Indy racing.

I'd like to see more than one chassis, but they are not calling it anything but what it is, a Dallara. And they do have 2 engine manufacturers. NASCAR on the other hand... If they stopped calling them "stock" cars, I might not hate it so much. I'd like to see the cars more like the V8 Supercars in Australia. Mike

If they were real "stock cars", they'd be racing Ford Escapes, Hyundai Santa Fe's, Jeep Cherokees......... Hell, it might be an improvement.

Mike If NASCAR went to a V8 Supercars format, I'll bet they'd pull in a much bigger audience. It seems like they're already moving a little in that direction, with the addition of more road courses. Maybe IMSA is having a positive influence on them. Ben

Ben, I love Aussie V8 Super Car series. The perfect blend between true sports cars and touring cars with massive amounts of V8 power. I watch the races on You Tube along with the British BTCC. Too bad that Penske Inc is leaving the series, but their ace driver will be in Indy Car next year for sure.
What Nascar needs to do is just let each manufacture design the car within their rules package. Chassis can be from a few chassis makers, but the body has to be super close to what's sold in the showrooms.
Like I said in my latest F1 rant, spec series consistently produce the best and closest racing. F1 by far is the most advanced, most expensive, racing series, and consistently produces the most boring road racing known to man. Next race: Hamilton wins, Bottas 2nd, and Vestappen comes home a distant 3rd. Unless there's a mechanical issue or accident, there's no need to watch the race. It's so boring and as it's predictable.
