Afternoon guys, just won a Lancer Chap 2G and a Revell chassis with Shelby Cobra "Sunburst wheels". I wanted both and have been outbid many times before. Lancer did the 2G SO Great, their BEST I believe. The "Sunbursts" are great too.
The attached Chap 2G photo are good because they show extreme tire growth in one year, same with Formula One from 67 to 68. Luckily I purchased some Super Modified dirt track tires from Plastic performance Products. These are the widest treaded tires I've seen yet. The 68 2G has spoke CAPS over the rear wheels I've never seen (you can see the web in between the spokes). Also just noticed the front fender air relief holes on the 67 are painted white not blue like the 66 Chap 2Es and the 68 has blue SQUARE outline over the holes. I like the 68 best the flares will be hard to make and attach. Anyone have experience bonding polycarbonate or whatever lancer used?
At least Jim saved a lost of money (except for 11 blown 427 engines) updating the 2E into the 2G whereas McLaren had to invent a whole new car each year to stay ahead of him. Thanx, John

Different intakes as well, very pronounced scoop on top of the 68.

It appears that the wing width was limited to the width of the body. The wider body flares are matched by the wider wing. The '68 race at Road America was run in the rain so Jim Hall had the team use narrower tires which looked very weird.
