I wanted to apologize , if you tried to contact me or there was important business on our forum, My Mom Passed, then My PC died, then the Car died, that broke the bank, and so much more leaving me mute, broke and pissed .... On top of all that Yoli fell getting quite banged up and hurting. I was able to communicate somewhat with my phone but !!! . Thanks for hanging in there while I resolved these problems. Someone had asked why the "Create Thread" button seemed to disappear?" I figured that out when it also happened to me. You must click "FORUM" in the header bar, to participate on the board. I had never done that before but it worked and it looks like once you do that you will be in good shape beyond. Apparently Proboards made some sort of change without letting us know.. Thanks for Your Patience... Chris

Hi Chris,
Sorry again to hear about your mom......Glad to hear you got your PC back in order! I am the one that had asked about the "Create Thread" tab on the "General Board" section of the forum. I followed your instructions and did not have any luck. I am still unable to created a thread on the General Board section. I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday, I don't know if that was a good or bad thing? LOL!

I believe proboards has it set up so that you must have administrator status to create a thread here. Obviously, we may reply to one, but only Chris and AFX can start one.

Hmmmm........That's so odd Paul. I am a member of two other Proboards, Indy and Open Wheel and this is the only one where you can not create a thread in the General Board section. I haven't checked any others, so who knows?

Jim I don't know, just guessing that there may be an option under admin tools to allow/disallow etc. I'm more familiar with XenForo than Proboards.

I entered the Board clicked Forums, and then went to "General Board" and every time the "Create Thread" option came up, I checked all the options on the Admin site and they are all set up right with posting allowed for everyone. I did try it without clicking Forums and the create thread option did not show.. so try it the way I did ! .. Chris

Sorry Chris but it doesn't work for me. I do not get a "create thread" option and at the bottom it says "you cannot create threads". Clicking forums, logging out and back in, etc doesn't change anything.
Do you have a "test member"? (an alter ego you can log in with which does not have admin privileges). If so, log out and log back in as a regular member and see if it works for you then.
good luck Paul

I also tried it and still no luck. I checked all the other sections and they have the tab for Create Thread. If it weren't for Paul getting the same results, I would chalk it up to my ineptness with a computer!

Chris, My sincerest condolences about your Mom's passing. Then the double whammy with your PC dying as well as your car. Glad to see that you got your PC back up and running. The PC gotta be a lot less expensive to fix or replace then your car for sure.
I checked the General Board and I've got a Create Thread tab, tested it, and it works on my end as well.
