I have to say it was a great race! Not only I'm overly happy for my favorite team and category but I have to say I'm warming up to the prototypes, especially those Caddys....
At the end I watched more of this race than many years before! Really liked it! What about those Taylor brothers?
Thanks, Ismael

I had the race on in the background all weekend. Great racing! Then, a couple of friends who live in different cities and who I haven’t talked to in a while wanted to get together for a zoom call, so I missed the last hour! (It was worth it.) Ben

Close racing in most of the categories. Still don't understand why they added another LMP category.

Makes sense as a business. The more seats, the more chances you give people to race, the more sponsors $$$ flow in. It is like having the little leagues playing at the same time as the major leagues. Can you imagine Indy Lights in the same race as Indycar? Nope, but somehow, IMSA makes it work. LMP3 was slower than GTLM. The winning LMP3 completed 757 laps, 13 less than the winning GTLM (770) and 50 less than overall (807). Fastest LMP3 lap was 1.43.389 while all GTLM were in the 1.42 range. Fastest GTLM lap was 1.42.411 by the Ferrari. Too bad for that incident before the start. That Porsche would have been a strong contender as it was at one point like 14 laps down and ended up only 10 laps down. Can't wipe this stupid grin off my face Thanks, Ismael

Absolutely one of the best Daytona 24 finishes I have ever experienced (and I've been watching them since ABC showed them on taped delay back in the 60's).
Great drama in DPi, too bad the Ganassi car had a puncture, but so glad for Wayne Taylor. I have watched his career since he moved here from South Africa. His association with Konica-Minolta has been one of the enduring relationships, and I sure both parties have profited from it.
Wonderful that WTR took the Acura that Penske struggled with to a 24 victory.
Looking forward to a great IMSA season.

I was Very Happy with the Daytona 24 yesterday, it was a Great race right down to the closing minutes, IMSA deserves a round of applause, I think they finally got the classes, whatever they label them , worked out and fine tuned. Wayne Taylor Racing, what can I say? Jordan in the Corvette was a delight to watch, we have been friends since He started racing in IMSA, Ricky did a masterful job of driving in the Acura, too bad Penske couldnt have gotten a handle on it though. Great to see All Three Taylors on the Podium, truly one for the history books. Sebring may be a slug fest because You know Gannassi and the other teams need some payback.. More to come . Chris

I think it was an outstanding race. Where can one see 5 cars almost nose to tail (4 sec separation...at one time)with 15 minutes left in the 24 hrs! Man...I really felt bad for the Ganassi team for sure. That would have been a pretty good shoot out. But....I think the Taylor team would've pulled it out. I'm looking forward to Sebring for sure.

For a change, the coverage on TV was pretty darn good.

For a change, the coverage on TV was pretty darn good. Joel There is, however, one thing NBC (and all broadcasters) need to learn. When showing races where the cars have multiple drivers, never take down the cars make logo. We do not know the names of all the drivers in all the cars or the rce number of every car. At least knowing the manufacturer, we might know which car it is after a driver change. Mike

A lot of the coverage concentrates on prototypes and almost seems to treat the GT cars as "yeah, there some other cars on the track, too." Ben

Great point guys. GTLM and GTD had far more cars in the race then did the prototype classes. I for none prefer the GTLM/GT3 cars whenever they're on TV. Maybe if the the networks allotted more time to the production classes, Porsche would still be fielding a True Factory team this year.
