Hello,
Sad, but not at all surprised since they backed to a single car for this year.
Thanks, Ismael

Every vehicle on the road will soon be electric SUVs, so what's the point of racing gasoline-powered sports prototypes. And really, Mazda has become an SUV company as they never advertise the Miata (MX-5) or their sedans.

When racing goes full electric, will be the day i stop watching and will most likely just attend vintage car races.

Not the news I like to see, but the reality that the world is going electric or even Hydrogen power down the road. As Ismael said they're down to just one sponsored car in a class that has fewer and fewer entries. Even Penske left the fold.
Personally, I don't much care for any of the now 3 prototype classes as I prefer the GT categories. Without the GTs running, there wouldn't be enough cars on the track to make it a real race these days.

Their were 24 prototype entries in 3 classes and 25 GT entries spread across two classes for the 2021 Rolex 24. Rarely do Indy Car and F1 races have more than 24 entries. I have seen some thrilling sprint car heat races contested by as few 1/2 dozen cars and I'm sure that any drag race fan will say you only need two cars to have a 'real race'.

Personally the new prototype LP3 is slower then the GT3s, so I wouldn't exactly say that they added anything to the prototype racing.
F1 is locked into 10 teams, so a grid of 20 cars is max. Indy Car fields do vary by race and race type, but their grid numbers are growing not shrinking.
