Does that interfere with the tray under the window? If I do install a tray, it'll follow the profile of the window tightly. I've actually modified the profile of the window and reduced it's length anyway, so should fit nicely. If I remember correctly, the kit-supplied tray is quite a bit longer, so I'm guessing it will interfere. But I'm not 100% sure as I no longer have the tray or mount points on the bulkhead to check.

Also, what did you use for channel to create a new mounting point? I guess the obvious answer would be "channel" of which I have zero in stock.
I think if I order one more thing, it will be... well... one more thing! Can you give me the size of the channel so I can order from Plastruct or Evergreen?

I wish I had used channel though, as it was very fiddly to make and especially filling and hiding the joints.

Plastruct makes a "U channel" that I can buy and I would gladly use it instead of fabricating it! Thanks in advance.

I've just compared the bracket to my bag of 1/8" square section (the stuff I used to build the rear frame) and it's identical in size. Evergreen code EV252. The 1/8" U-Channel is EV264. I'm now wondering why I struggled to build it like I did instead of simply using this...

Martin, what is the length of the piece that you added to the tank? I will probably drill it out and use a pin for placement then hide the pine end with a blot head...

Not sure how much material I added to be honest. Probably around 1/4". I remembered that I had taken a picture, so hopefully this is of some use:

Martin, where did you go?

Life, house move and general apathy to this site preventing recorded progress. Did find this pic though: Removing most of the material from the inner 'liner' (cleverly marked with the red X's) of the engine cover and will re-make internal structure as and where required. Need new/better hinge points for my rebuilt rear-end, so all part of the same process.

Martin. I can understand your feelings of "why-the-heck-post-stuff-if-they-don't-even-read/see-it?" But don' t forget some of us are too shy to approach some one of your skill and expertness' for fear of being unworthy of notice. You have a gift of construction and creation that is inspirational. Thank You

So Martin B, after not posting for a long time (and I realize there were other things going on), it isn't very fair to say there has been no activity. I gave up on you.
And then I gave up on my GT40 when the door fits just sucked... and I had already installed the front cabin and etc... I just got discouraged and went to work on my first MFH kit. And then work started going crazy so I finally will get back to it tomorrow... hopefully.
So we are interested... and I see it has now been another three months.
Let us know what's going on.

Hey Patrick, I'll be honest; along with the house move, work change and the 1000 other things life throws at us; I became a little overwhelmed with the build. I will admit that at the time I became more than a little obsessed and was kinda pleased with the external distractions! I found myself losing sleep because I was trying to think of what I should do to fix many of the issues I was facing: How do I fix the engine alignment to my new rear frame. How I would replace the clam-shell hinges now I've replaced them. How I would find new (more accurate) rear springs. How I could fix my new manifold pieces on my new brackets without loads of glue. How I could replicate the hammer dents of the door closing issue on Lap 1. How I would replicate 24hrs of dirt on the inside of the rear shell.... etc etc etc.. All these in addition to the issues you've since encountered such the door fitments which did kinda disappoint me somewhat! I think this GT40 has the potential to be as good a final product as a MFH kit, I really do. But there is a lot of work required (which we are all struggling with) to make it so. I definitely haven't given up mine, rest assured. I'm excited to get back into it, but will take quite a bit of time that's all. I have now arranged a pseudo build bench in my new spare room and looking to restart modelling in earnest. I need to spend a bit of time working out where I am with that build as it is all hibernating and packed safely away. In the meantime, I've just started a new project involving... Mr Ken Miles! I've just started an attempt at a copy of his Cobra as seen in the 'Ford vs Ferrari' film. Should be a little easier built for now, although has a lot of little issues in itself to overcome! I will be generating a build thread of sorts for this one very soon, although I'm currently a little unsure what category to place it in... Anyway, I have seen your MFH Sharknose build and have been very impressed. They really are magnificent models from what I can see and you're doing a cracking job. Will look great alongside your other Ferraris on that shelf.
