Hello! I've always been fascinated by jet and rocket powered Hot Wheels. My ever growing Hot Wheels collection can be divided in 4 major categories: Corvettes, Ferraris, Jet/Rocket Cars and everything else. You may have seen my Jet Threat 2 Grand Sport thread. The Jet Sweep X5 is a Larry Wood designed jet car from 1985. Original release Spectraflame olive color in 1985, an unpainted version released in 1986 and a very similar silver painted scheme the same year. I found this little tired guy all alone in ebay back in 2014 and had to rescue it. It's missing the canopy and the rear spoiler. Axles are bent and the worn paint in the Ultra Hots wheels.... PERFECT subject for a Resto-Mod..... Paint scheme is Corvette Atomic Orange and Cadillac Pelham blue, loosely inspired by the Gulf racing scheme. Machined exhaust nozzle, parachute tube and front wheels. Front tires are plumbing O rings. Scratchbuilt spoiler, parachute and canopy. Modified parts box rear wheels. This was finished back in 2015 Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, that's some restoration. The finished Hot Wheels really looks great. Just one dumb question. Where would the 1/64 scale driver seat?

Hi Joel, This should help. I made a clear canopy over that. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael At least there's a driver's compartment, although it must be not only as scary as hell, but super nosy to boot.
