Slightly off-topic, but then again... In 1974, a local dirt track hosted an open competition race, allowing the alcohol-fueled fuel injected dirt modifieds from NJ and PA to compete. A bad re-start accident caused one NJ car to get rear ended, splitting his tank (no fuel cell) and starting a HUGE alcohol fire. Track equipment couldn't control it, so they threw a chain on to it and dragged it into a huge infield puddle, and let it burn out. Took a while! A suppression system would have helped a lot, I'm sure!
