The recent Monaco 2021 Historics thread prompted me to remember this video about the machine that put Ducati on the map. I think Mr. Stein strikes a fine balance between viewpoints.

I used to be. I raced a 250 Diana and a 350 Sebring for several years. But that was a long time ago.

Oh, nice.
What's that machine in your profile picture, if I may ask? It's been scratching at the walls of my mind since I first saw it.

I've got to confess that I've never rode a bike to this day. When I turned 18 I wanted a bike in the worst way, but two of my families friends kids had really bad bike accidents on the street, and I was literally forbidden to own, so I just stuck with my MGBs and eventually raced Enduro karts. But I do enjoy watching GP bike racing on tv.

Does currently owning four mean I'm obsessed?

Does currently owning four mean I'm oppressed? No. It means you're lucky and I'm jealous.

The pic in my avatar:
Not my bike but identical to what I had (except mine had a blue fairing).
350cc single cylinder desmo, 11,000 rpm redline.
Those were the days.

arcticwolf : Merci! I don't recall ever seeing a faired version of that machine. Changes its aspect completely. Lovely. 2whl : Would you care to list them, please? I'm deeply curious. @joel_W: I've never ridden one either, other than as terrified self-loading baggage a couple of times. They've interested me since my teenage years, though.
