Spent a hot afternoon at the VIR today, and then drove home in a hot car because the AC quit working. I guess troubleshooting that will get me out of mowing the lawn tomorrow. They ran the Porsche GT3, Super Trofeo, GT4, and GT America GT3 races today. The Super Trofeo was fun, as usual. If you haven't watched a race, imagine MX-5 Cup racing, but with Lamborghinis. They turn faster laps than the GT3 cars and hit 175 on the straights at the VIR. There wasn't a whole lot of racing in the other races. The leaders got way out ahead of the pack and the best racing was between the also-rans. After a while, it looked more like they were running practice laps, there was so much distance between the cars. There was only one Porsche in the GT America race and just a couple in the GT4 race. Lots of Lamborghinis and Aston Martins, with a good number of BMWs and Mercedes. Looking at the number of Huracan GT3s on the track today, plus the hundreds(?) on tracks around the world, its a wonder nobody has released a kit of one, yet. Nunu is already partway there, because the Huracan shares the engine and chassis with the Audi R8. We also need kits of that Acura NSX and Ferrari 488. Ben

Thanks! The VIR is great. Even my wife likes going there. The IMSA races are in October this year, so the weather should be great. I might try to sneak up there for the Gold Cup vintage races in Sept, too.

I read the other day, there is a Lamborghini Huracan GT# or GT ? or ?? being kitted up as we speak, either Tamiya, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Nunu or ?? but it will be a full on GT Race car kit. The post advised the Decal Manufacturers to start making plans to produce a lot of Liveries! Get Ready to Rock! Speaking of which , the Eddie Van Halen tribute Aston Martin? was cool looking Chris

That would be fantastic if somebody does release one! In case nobody has noticed, the Huracan is one of my favorites. I didn't see the GT4 Van Halen tribute car until he was already on the track, or else I would have asked about it. At first I thought it was Jan Heylen's car, just because that would have been funny and cool, but he drives GT3. Ben

I saw it on one of the Motorsport news pages but it was being announced as that livery being canceled. I can see someone took the ball and ran with it though. Chris

Always great to see race cars used as intended and in-person!
