Good Afternoon guys, I need about 4 to 6 sets of 1973 AMT Warren Tope Trans-Am 1/24 or 1/25 Gold Striped and Lettered Firestone tires and the 1/24 Modelers/Fujimi/Revel/Monogram Chap 2D Kit tires and decals with Firestone gold letters and stripes. The Fred Cady Firestone and Goodyear letters and stripes are EXTREMELY Fragile and almost useless, I have to cut them into pie-shaped sections. Decal set solutions are also useless. Any tips? Buy or trade for tires what do you want? Thanx, John

Ben, Thanx for link. These appear to be similar to the Japanese Firestone decals for the Chaparral 2F resin kit but those have just the gold stripe with separate Firestone logo. However they do not adhere to vinyl tires. I tried using Micro Sol and Micro Set and Testors Decal Set but they need some kind of base coat to adhere. I have a set of repop 1/24 Russkit diamond tread Goodyear for a King Cobra project, but the rubber is rough finish and decals do not adhere well. Tried using Fred Cady Goodyear Blue Streaks (and Firestone gold stripes) decals but the just break up into bits. Tried "Pie" slicing and then the whole one piece decals they just shrivel up. Waste of money. The late Monogram Chap 2D re-release has tough Gold stripe decals as does the Modelers/Fujimi/Revel Chap 2D. I'm trying to get a small bottle of clear paint for rubber or vinyl. Advise anyone? Thanx, John

Acrylic paint is what to use on Vinyl tires. Several brands to choose from. Putting down gloss clear, decal, then semi-gloss or flat coat to seal them is how some of us deal with the decals on vinyl tires. Shabo made dry transfers and they worked nice as well.
