So, I've been taking a short break from cars over the last month or so to build Hasegawa's 1/48 Mitsubishi F-2A Viper Zero. It's a very interesting aircraft. It's based on the F-16, but is longer and has 25% more wing area. The JASDF Sea Blue camouflage is striking. I've been wanting to build this kit for years and when Sprue Brothers recently had it on sale, I decided I'd better get on with it. The only additions are a slightly modified Quickboost ACES II ejection seat and decals from DMX. It's been a fun build. I'm very rusty with my freehand camouflage technique, and this is my first time camouflaging with Mr Color paint. I'm still getting the hang of the proper paint/thinner ratio and air pressure for this kind of work. Plus, my trigger finger kept locking up or convulsing, which made it hard to get a consistent spray pattern. Ben

Not much apparent progress from my last post, but the F-2A is finally ready for decals. Ben

I managed to fight the decals to a draw. I used a combination of DXM and kit decals and both silvered badly. No amount of Solvaset or Future would get them to lay down, plus the 20-year-old Hasegawa decals are about as thick as scotch tape. I've been spoiled by the fantastic decals from Nunu and SK, lately. No weapons, of course, because Hasegawa. Ben
