My feeble mind can’t even grasp that this is the same kit as the beginning photos. Brilliant work.

Hello gang, Sorry for been away so long. Been very busy with life in general. After almost 2 months of not even touching this, I recently mixed my own paint using gray, sky blue and silver. It better be enough because I can't replicate it again Yesterday I finally had a spare minute to airbrush the bottom of the fuselage and one wing, inside only. Still a long way to go but it is a step closer. Will try to finish this year. Thanks, Ismael

Well I think that’s a great color you’ve created there.

Ismael, I think I've been away almost as long, but you're back and moving ahead with the build. Paint looks great in the pic but I'm sure it looks even better up close and personal.

Hello everybody! Before showing the update on this project, I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of health! Very little progress due to very little time as I'm really busy at work. Plus, this turned out to be more complicated than I anticipated. There is about a week of work here and still not done yet. And I still haven't touch the outside nor the other "wing". But at least there is a little progress. Thanks, Ismael

Funny about not being able to replicate the color again!! I always find a small part or more, Later , that need to be done in the same finish like wings or what ever... but I realize I cant match them up so I sometimes go with a accent color to make it look right..Lol. Merry Christmas and a Happy Modeling New Year. Take a break from the madness and enjoy the Holidays. Chris

Ismael, Looking pretty darn good. Busy season, and dodging this insane weather takes up all my time these days. Have a great holiday and stay safe.

Hello, It is finally FINISHED! While more than 90% was built in 2022, it is officially the first model finished in 2023 What was supposed to be a quick build turned out to be quite a challenge. The kit is almost unbuildable. I also found out (just like George Lucas and his team found out in 1976), photographing these is quite a challenge. The movie guys made the right call using a very light blue because with the black background, it looks more silverish and metallic. Had to take pictures in different backgrounds trying to get it right. At the end, I used white background that was darkened in Photoshop.Pretty much box-stock but I added the 4 exhaust ports with scratchbuilt aluminum tubing rings. Gobs of putty were required for this project. The ship only appears for a few minutes in the original movie. I took a few artistic licenses but always trying to stay close to the original. Darth Vader's TIE Advance X1Laser blasts and stars courtesy of Photoshop. Hope you like it! Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, WTG!!!
The force was certainly with you to turn that horrid box of plastic into the replica you turned it into.

You took a toy and made it into a model. That's model building.
Way to go Ismael!!
