Well I guess it worked. Having always be interested in the original Trans Am series, I thought I would build a fantasy version. Back in the day I owned a 67 & then a couple years later a 69 H.O. with the 4 barrel carb, bigger cam, & special exhaust header. It had the 350 turbo hydramatic tranny. It was a pretty quick car. Pretty sure no Firebirds ran a 6 cylinder in the Trans Am, so it's my version of a car that never was.

If you want to give it another go, Acme makes what they call a tribute model of Jerry Titus' 1969 Firebird. It is red and white, #26 as raced at the Daytona 24 hour race. It is basically a street car with a stripped interior and painted like the race car. Acme made a Z-28 motor that would be "correct" for Trans Am. This is all 1/18th scale. I American Muscle - Ertl makes a 1971 Trans Am that would make a good start for a Titus 1970 racer. The motor might not be right but it has the hood scoop. Race car rear flairs would be a challenge to make on a metal body. Good luck.

This is 1/25 scale.
