I have a 312T parts kit (actually it's a complete old dismantled kit). The T2 was just a rebodied T, I considered refinishing the T body and call it a 312T. I have the rear wing bits. Wheels and nose permanently installed, upper body test fit just for fun:

Great work on your challange for the year. At what point am I old enough to know better? Never! That would take the fun and mystery out of it all. Well in my case anyway

Well, I got the top shell reasonably cleaned up, painted and glued together. 2 sets of Indycals decals to play with so I figured I had this covered.
I ended up with this:
I would have painted it white underneath if I'd known. Anyway, 2 sets of decals so I doubled up the offending area:
Obviously more decals isn't going to help. Not a happy camper.

Paul, I have found this is an ongoing issue with IndyCals especially where you have to cover an area of red with a white decal. They are far too translucent. Except now I see a bigger problem... was Michael's #1 an entire decals with the red lines. And the white area underneath... was that painted? Because you can see where the red shows through and I don't understand if Michael's registration is off because the red line is not parallel to the white box. If you moved the decal down to match the underred line then the red outline would be way too low. Am I making sense? I had this issue on the T4 with some IndyCals.

Patrick, you are correct on all counts. I painted the top half white on the assumption the decal would cover the red properly, which it did when I used a no name aftermarket set on a few other Ferrari's. The Indycal set is far too translucent. If I'd known, I could have painted it white, but too late now.
Doesn't matter, call the thing done. So, one out of the two you sent me rescued!!

That's too bad... and something to remember about the white on Michaels decals. I am not sure of his printing process but I seem to remember him saying that the white is translucent. Maybe he said that in a conversation with me privately. But I remember thinking "uh oh".

So call it done. Roll bar repaired and relocated, it's not where Ferrari put it but it's the only way to fit the body shell. Close enough. The wheels are Tamiya, the tires are from something but they are the right size. Overall, it looks OK on the shelf - don't look too close, lol.
Now, back to that nice Bugatti kit.
Cheers
Paul

Is this the second of the Protar kits I sent to you? I know they are really old and I probably got the better end of that deal except for one thing... the GT40 has been shelved for quite some time and will be until I get done with my two MFH kits. I hope to learn some stuff that I apply to that mess.
Best of luck again with a brittle 50 year old kit!
