Haven't posted here in a while, however have continued creating 1/18 scale diecast customs.
In order to create this custom Volvo 122B, I needed a set of tires.
The Volvo was owned by a college acquaintance of mine, the picture is from the 1971 IMSA Season Finale at Daytona.
Here's a link to the Flickr build album:
flic.kr/s/aHskR4q843My research brought me to this model as a potential source.
Fortunately for me, Greenlight marketed a set of tires for their Falcon XB.
Unfortunately for me, I could only use the rears.
I ended up purchasing four sets, which then created an extra set of four rears, along with the four that went on the model.
Of course, this also created two sets of four fronts.
For what I build, the fronts are totally out of proportion, but I thought they might be a good match for 1/24 scale.
Here are the approximate dimensions of the fronts.
They come with a brake rotor and caliper combined into one piece.
These two sets also include two axle shafts per set.
Additionally, somehow along the way, I ended up with some other tires that are way too small for my needs.
I have no clue as to the brand, but they are a nice, soft compliant compound.
Here are dimensions for them.
Finally, I have another Greenlight combination front and rear set that I bought by mistake, thinking it was the set I actually needed.
They appear to be a dragster set up.
In summary, this is what I have.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Sizing is approximate, as I tried not to squeeze the tires when I was measuring.
Anyway, I am willing to give these away to the first person who sends me a PM.
Thanks!
