Ismael, I used white glued on Tissue for tarps etc., so I know just how effective it can be. But a whole textured convertible top is taking it to another whole new level. Both look great.

Hello, You were not expecting a black Model T, were you? Scalefinishes Sunoco blue. Leftover from the Camaro I built back in 2008! That paint is over 15 years old. Chose that color because it is non-metallic solid dark color, along the lines of what you would find in 1915. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Time for an update: I ran into a problem with this build. The 56 years old vinyl tires don't want to play nice. They are all warped and slightly stretched. So after days of fighting them (heat, pressure, sandwiching between 2 glass pieces, etc.), I was only able to get 1 to kind of cooperate, the one you see on the left here. And you can still see it is warped and doesn't fit snuggly into the wheel. The one on the right is the second best one. As you can see, these won't cut it. So you may have seen I posted a while ago a request. I was looking for a set of tires or another alternative. I wanted wood spokes wheels, not wire wheels. My good friend Ken from MCM forum came forward and we discussed. He had a variety of 1/32 wheels. We exchanged a few pictures and dimensions and he was gracious enough to send me a set. These wheels actually have the tires molded in. I think that will be better in the long run. I made the center caps, the brass spindle and very thin tire rims. Had to make like 20 of those to get 8 decent ones. This is how it should look. Of course the tire needs to be painted.. DUH! So this project keeps on rolling, but a bit slower. By the way the blue body parts were color sanded and a second coat applied. Thanks, Ismael

On the T my Dad built for Pebble Beach He put Gold leaf pinstripe on the all black car, it raised a few eyebrows but he was able to document that it was an option many Dealers offered . So it was approved by the Judges at Pebble beach as Original. Good stuff Ismael's build.. I have 23 T Budweiser Delivery Hack sitting here that this build is just tempting me too start up... we shall see..I have a lot of photos of the cars my Dad built , maybe I can find a special one to replicate.. Hello, I was very careful in choosing this color. This is a color that would be available at the time. Non-metallic solid color, kind of dark and primary. From what I have read, despite the statement of "any color as long as it is black", it was possible to custom order other colors but most likely as a dealer option. It seems the factory followed the black only policy from 1914 to 1925 or so. Heck, with 15 million made, chances are more than one was repainted new Thanks, Ismael

Agreed, $390 fully equipped left some of the Upper Class customers the choice of a Dealer re-paint. Looking at my Ford Chronicles book it had some interesting info for 1915, not their best year in sales but still it was the only game around for most. I have seen that Medium-dark blue on some examples and it is very nice color. I dont remember seeing any Metallic colors in the early years, remember the Automobile had only been around for a handful of years. Little known fact, The Dodge Brothers were working at Ford as was Louis Chevrolet at this time Chris

I always just assumed that the Dodge Brothers started Dodge without working for another car manufacture, kind of like how the aviation industry started. And Ismael, your paint looks perfect. Well done my friend. joel

Well done my friend. joel Watched a documentary on, I believe Hulu, called Cars that made America that had some awesome information on this. The dodge brothers were basically independent contractors with a reputation for making high quality parts at that time. They’d been building transmissions for Oldsmobile but when that contract ran out they accepted a contract with Ford along with a stake in the company. They were instrumental in the success of the model T. They actually also won a big court case with Henry about it. After the dispute with Henry they went their own way. Interesting story for sure.
