You're doing a fantastic job on this, Bill.

thanks Paul The aluminum rims look great for a show car, but not so realistic for a race car. To dull the rims i scuffed with a red 3m scuff pad and with a Q-tip i rubbed on some Brass Black and quickly wiped off with a paper towel.

I might have to get me one of these. Does it come with a half tonneau cover?

If you can get the philips screwdriver that comes with the Tamiya motorcycles, they are magnetized and fit the MFH screws perfectly. BTW....great progress. I have 2 of those things and 1 is no longer magnetic. I think it's my proximity to the North Pole.

I might have to get me one of these. Does it come with a half tonneau cover? the version i have does not come with half tonneau cover. version C Cobra Caravan has the street version and may come with half cover. Kit has been very fun to build and i did find a decent screwdriver for the tiny screws.

There’s no cheating when building a Hiro kit…Lol. I have jumped to other sections from time to time, just to give the brain a rest when something gets a little frustrating

With any kit, the "instructions" are more of a general guideline .........

i have to say the larger scale MFH kits are much more fun and easier to build......so far. View AttachmentView Attachment Decals by 3 amigos . started with sand blasting some parts for a more natural look and some wet sand and polish to valve covers for a chrome look. How do you know 3 Amigos decals? One of the original amigos is an amigo of mine... Les Smirle! Also, I have trouble getting an adequate screwdriver for the .4mm screws. I have one of the Tamiya screwdrivers but it is pretty much screwed out... or rather up. Anyone know the # size so I can order the correct screwdriver from someone like MicroMark? (Apparently there are size numbers for screwdrivers that small...)

All these MFH kits you guys build on here are amazing. Great progress! MFH seems to represent a kind of pinnacle of building/torture to be honest. They seem to bring all your skills to the front as if to say "Oh, you think you know how to build something? Hold my beer..." It is a learning curve way beyond anything I learned building 1/12 Tamiya F1 kits. I mean a few nuts and bolts, maybe a screw or two and a metal suspension part... but NOTHING like this! And the problem is once you build, you think "I could have done so much better, so I better buy another..." and the next thing you know, MFH is the only kit you will ever want. Means an YUGE commitment of money but from what I have seen in person and here in photos, they are really worth it! And of course, you don't screw up because unlike spending another $145 on a Tamiya kit, you really don't want to plunk down another $599 to fix your bad building skills!

(Apparently there are size numbers for screwdrivers that small...) I started a 65 Shelby r model group and needed special decals. Swede 70 recommended 3 Amigos. I don't know Sam personally, but his service is great and decals are spot on. I agree with everything you said about MFH kits. They tend to bring out any skill you may have. You definitly get what you pay for. Its hard to make a crappy kit look good and much easier to make a great kit look good.
The black on the dash looks great. What did you use?
The black is Tamiya semi gloss black TS-29 from a rattle can. The crappy orange peel gave it a nice texture.
The most detail i have ever put into a firewall . I'm kinda held up on interior, looking for a good source for battery terminals and a battery shut off switch. ( Battery goes behind passenger seat )
