I have a 1/43 model of a Cobra Daytona Coupe that I want to build to represent the Gurney/Bondurant #5 that finished 4th at LeMans in 1964. The car was painted in the light shade called Viking Blue, and I am trying to fins a rattle can paint that most closely matches...lacquer or enamel. I have tried spraying 10 different colors from Tamiya and ModelMaster on white spoons but all look too dark. The color has a light metallic look to it, so getting paint from a supplier for full size cars might have metallic particles that are too large, causing an "out of scale" finish. MCW does not have the color available in aerosols, and I have never used an airbrush. Suggestions welcome.

Ismael-
I went to the scalefinishes site but I did not see any aerosol/rattle can options. It all seemed to be airbrush oriented...or did I miss something?

TeeGee, I used Tamiya TS-58 Pearl Light Blue on my AMT 64 Sebring 427 Cobra Prototype and it came out well. Attaching photo of "Teddy Treebagger!" Thanx, John

grandsport3- thanks for the suggestion. I have used TS-58 on another model but it seems to be a little light. Maybe if I use a black primer or undercoat it will help.

MCW should have what you are looking for. mcwfinishes.com/Update: Although they do have Viking Blue in both enamel & lacquer, it looks like no spray cans available at this time. But allegedly coming soon. You could email him and ask about availability. Mike
