The famous BT46B driven by Niki Lauda and known as the "fan car" has been rereleased.
I promised myself not to buy another MFH until I finished all my dessert and then they do this to me!
AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!

And now I just bought myself a Christmas present. I have been such a good boy this year.
I will be assembling a list of the things I need to finish before I start on the BT46 or the BT46B Ver A fan car. It is a long list, trust me! 12/21/23
And it is on the way! Already picked up at the factory in Tokyo! That's customer service! - 12/22/23

Patrick, The MFH bug has really bitten you but good. All I can say is that your wife surely is an Angel.
I'm still really looking forward to seeing your M19A cross the finish sooner then later.

Hello Patrick,
Did you finish the sharknose? I've been kind of semi-away and haven't follow closely along on some builds.
Thanks, Ismael

Hello Patrick, Did you finish the sharknose? I've been kind of semi-away and haven't follow closely along on some builds. Thanks, Ismael It got put away for the time being until better paint weather... and I am changing paint brands most likely... I'm pretty sure I have given up on MCW. I'm most likely going back to what I know which is Tamiya!

Patrick, For years and years Tamiya Acrylic Lacquers were my go to paints. But with the switch to cars, Gravity of Spain has just about every color in lacquer, pre-thinned, and the bottles and lids are the best period. They're my go to for paint. What's more Order one day and I've got it no later then 3 or 4 days later.

Scalefinishes.com is my go to for paint. Can't go wrong. Jameston will mix you any possible color you can think of under the rainbow and then some. He has his own automotive paint mixing equipment. He is not bottling up somebody else's paint. Fast, friendly and easy to use. You email him and he will do whatever possible to help you out, not to sell you something. After all he is first and foremost a modeler.
Thanks, Ismael

But my hesitation is thus... do both these paints come with a two part hardener gloss finishing coat? That is the problem with MCW... one mistake and you end up with a big effing mess! That is why I am considering staying with Tamiya especially for the red of these Brabham cars. It is very distinct in look and hue! Thanks for the help!

Been basecoat it will not dry to a gloss finish. You can clearcoat it with anything, including 2K clear. I prefer good old single stage clear but that's just me. I have also cleared it with honey gloss enamel automotive clear with good results. That been said, staying with what you feel more comfortable is a good plan as long as it produces the results you are after.
Thanks, Ismael

Patrick, Gravity is a true automotive Lacquer, and as Ismael said, it dries to a slightish Matt finish. Literally, any clear gloss whether it be 2K Urethane or a one stage lacquer like Tamiya true Lacquer line, Mr. Color lacquer, Scale Finishes etc. Makes no real difference. It's your technique on how you apply it, and the conditions that exist in the area that you're spraying.
Gravity only has a 2 part 2K Urethane plus thinner which is insanely expensive. Tried it, but wasn't crazy about my test results so I went back to Tamiya Gloss Lacquer. Honesty, if you go the 2k route, you can get the same product at a auto store in a life time supply for way less per fl oz. Ismael mentioned clear enamels, but I've never used them as I just assume that they have the same drying properties as enamel paints which takes forever to actually completely dry and cure.

Happy New Year!
Worth noting, not all enamels are the same. I use Honey Gloss clear which is enamel based but is made to work with basecoats.
Thanks, Ismael
