I have in the past got several kits from Patrick. They were, as we say, "as described". Hey, it's not Patrick's fault they were Protar kits!!!!!!

Mike, I basically cribbed the body panels from that kit. I think it cost me $25 or something ridiculous. It was a kit started by someone's father and he had died so she wanted to get rid of it (I am sensing a commonality here with that person... and I don't mean the living daughter!) I didn't carefully inspect the components but I made sure to put into the proxy kit all the pieces to make another complete kit! Sorry it was as labor intensify as it seems!
And if there were no graphics, then good deal for you! I need to remember that!
Like I said, great rebuild of a tough kit. Four years is quite a while.

....Sorry it was as labor intensify as it seems!.... No need to apologize, sir! Yeah, it took a bit of work but I knew that going in. It's not the most perfect thing I've ever built but I had fun doing it and that's what this hobby supposed to be for, right?

The T3 awaits motivation on my part. The others weren't 49's, the were Lotus 72's. One became my Chinook, also in here somewhere, the other is a parts donor. I also got a Brabham and a Ligier from you in a trade for a GT40. Brabham built, Ligier for sale?

You are most certainly correct, Paul. They were Lotus 72 model kits! Six went your way? I had forgotten that! The JS 11 was long on the shelf, and now I have more I need to get moving alone. I actually have 6, (count 'em... 6) days off starting on Good Friday so I may have time to tackle the old work space. I am dealing with some major house issues that will require professionals but it will also cost about $10k (major water line replacement and building a 5' "defensible space" around the perimeter of the house). I will just supervise those efforts. However, I did comply a list 12 deep of things I need to finish before I EVEN consider starting a new kit! Glad to hear from everyone here! Sorry about hijacking your thread, Mike.

Sorry about hijacking your thread, Mike. No worries, Patrick! You're keeping the thread at the top of the update list and, as they say, any press is good press, right? 😉😂🤣

With or without the raised lettering, that is a beautiful restoration. One to be proud of.

Mike,
That is one GORGEOUS build! I have to get into 3D printing but I haven't got a chance. I too do restorations of older glue bombs. At least for plastic builds, the freezer trick has worked well for me. Wet the model, put it in a ziplock and put in the freezer. The water in the joints expands when it freezes and parts separate.
Thanks, Ismael
