I just thought I would get a WIP up and ready for next weekends 24 hr build during the Rolex 24. I'm going to attempt to do my first 24 hr build using this basic 1/24 Tamiya Porsche 936/78 but I'm going to turn it into the 1981 Lemans winning 936/81 driven by Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell. My personal disclaimer, if this is going to turn into looking bad just because of rushing it for a 24 hr deadline I will just DNQ myself and will not push it because at the end of the day I'd rather have a nice model than piece of junk just because of some silly goal of 24 hrs that at the end of the day no one really cares about to be honest with you!....you know! LOL!

Do you think I can have a pass on sculpting that hump on the radiator outlet ramp ahead of time? Please? I promise not to do anything else before the start of the 24.

I'm going to create my own rules and sculpt out the hump ahead of time because there is NO WAY I could get that done in 24 hrs without it looking like garbage! Just to prove to you guys that I'm not working ahead of time on other things I will take a picture of the start of race on TV while holding my model in front of it (which you will clearly see the new hump)

There's no way I'll make it in time! I had to redo the bump I got the body scuffed, and all seams filled....I hope to prime soon! Not much to the chassis - these late 70's Tamiya sportscar kits were originally Battery powered. The kit I have here is not one of the originals but a reissue from 2000

Looks nice! The nice part about the old battery kits, they make for great quick builds!
