I started this rare kit (rare not because of the body type, but rare because of the decals of this rare racer)... it started out fine, got the BBS wheels painted up nice... pretty basic interior... the body painted well enough... and then I looked at the front windscreen...hmmmmm, a rock kicked up by one of the Porsches caused the windscreen to be, let's say unusable... so I stopped in at the pits and they said to pack it up as a spare windshield wasn't within the spares box. Close, but no cigar! Patrick

Dont feel too bad Patrick I DNFed too! If 24 hr builds were easy everyone would be doing them. Its always nice to do an easy build once in a while - its a good break from all the hard core scratch building we do all the time.

I would never DNF for something as minor as that! It may have finished the race with a cracked windshield, but it would finish. A vacuum formed windshield can be made after to replace the damaged piece. Maybe it would make sense to simply accept the cracked piece and weather the car as a end-of-race model?

The team lacked the time to vac-form the windscreen, but will continue to work on the the car.
