How NICE! Great to see hard work and skills rewarded! Matra is especially nice as it was (early Tamiya?) not as well detailed as later models as kits go. Also, very few Matras seem to have ever been put up on the Web. Vette isn't A/P. It IS A+ Production! Thanx!

The Matra IS a 1/24 model bashed from a Heller MS5 and a Monogram Contach V12. Art's car is just amazing to see, many levels above me.

Congrats to Art and Patrick. Where is this held? I live in San Diego and would like to attend next year. I might even finish something with a year head start.

Chris,
That award was such a surprise and icing on the cake, as the show was great, as usual. Thanks for all your effort to give all of us guys an excuse to get together. Also, thanks to you all for the great comments.
Patrick's display of his Heller collection was simply awesome. His creativity when it comes to morphing a model from one thing to another is a sight to be seen. Truly fantastic stuff.

Thanks Art and Patrick, I am a lucky guy in that my wife, Yolanda, fully supports the hobby and the show. She worked very hard , keeping the paperwork, registration and balloting in line and error free. If not for her, I dont think I would do it. I will continue as long as I can to put the So Cal NNL on and raise needed funds for the Rancho San Antonio Boys Home. Every year we try to improve the quality and participation in the show. Next Year will also be a banner year with some of the things we learned this year implemented. Look forward to Guest speakers, Phillipe De Lespinay, Heller kit designer and longtime family friend could not make it this year but may in 2015 ( sorry Patrick), and possibly others will speak. There is so much to do at the show, with the real car show outside, food, family events and tons of model and automotive vendors, we are already working on ideas for 2015. Every other year we are the same date as GSL and I understand the draw of that so but I hope to see all of you in 2015, Thanks Again and Yolanda sends her appreciation also... Chris Ps. I am fully back to building and will have a bunch of WIP's soon...

Chris,
Please extend my thanks to Yolanda as well. We all appreciate her tireless effort and dedication to the show as well. She did a great job, as everything went very smooth from where I sat.

I really wanted to attend this year. Recent years I have had schedule conflicts with working as an official at offroad races. That wasn't a problem this year and my son and I made plans to be there.
Well, we were in the Valley at least, but not at the NNL.
It would have been tacky to have dropped my wife off at the hospital ICU with my mother in law who was dying and go off to a model car event.
Best laid plans and all...
Congratulations Art!!!!
As to the work Chris and his wife expend to conduct such an event, my decades (read as "lifetime") of involvement as a car race official and experience of having put on a small model show at a LHS provide me with a fine appreciation of what it takes to put on such an event. And since they now live several hundred miles away, it's an even bigger undertaking!
