The history of this car is fascinating. It was lovingly built by the Piech/Porsche family for there beloved adopted son Rex Racer, also known as Racer-X. His birth father had brutely berated him after crashing the Mach-1. Later his younger brother Speed Racer, would champion the Mach-5 but thats another story. Rex, being very distrought over his fathers behavior ran off to Germany and was embraced by the Piech/Porsche family. This car bears the #9 being Rexs number, also known as the shooting star. PS This project started out here: www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/102327-my-very-first-build-fisher-porsche-908-and-im-sorry/... where it met an almost tragic end. During the stripping process the body warped and some parts rubberized. The door and headlight seams were somewhat eaten away is if some one took a sand blaster to the poor thing. Not wanting to leave Paul Fishers wonderful kit in horrable condition I improvised. So here I happily present you the outcome, my very first build although it felt like many! PSS Since I really liked the racing-white/bright-orange combo this car initially had, I bought a Lemans Miniatures 908 to do it. I'll post a kit review hoping the community will enjoy seeing the LMM 908 offering. PSSS Finally I finished! I eagerly await your comments, tips, critisiscms etc... Humbly yours; A Beginner

Wow! First model and you jump right in with a resin kit. Good work and nice save after the stripper incident.

Thanks Mike, VERY kind of you.
A very seasoned and great builder suggested I take it easy for a bit and so my next almost done project is a Fujimi Chaparral.
And after that is Fujimi Wolf Dino which is a Fujimi Dino 206GT as I compared the build instructions. The cost for the Wolf version was at least 1/2 of the Dino 206GT.

Why thank you crazyed, very kind of you.
My Chaparral should be done by early next week, pretty excited!
Had to strip some parts as I didn't like how I applied buffing Metalizer to it.

You've picked one of the Cars from my favorite Team of the era. Part of the reason for my Avatar is in Tribute to them.
