Just read that Brock Yates lost his battle with Alzheimer yesterday. Sad news about a giant of journalism. What a legacy he's left: books, a race, movies, scores of columns, and inspirations for thousands of race and automotive fans. --Frank

He had some interesting points of view, I can't say I always agreed with him, but I usually gave his opinions consideration. Godspeed Brock Yates.

Agreed, back in late '60s-'70s he had a real forum with a monthly column and sometimes road tests. For a time he had the moniker "the assassin" for his very acerbic writing. Thanx for a remembrance of one of the names from the past. I appreciate your info.

Brock owned some interesting road race cars too. Such as the Duff Livingston "Eliminator" Model T Special" he restored. Looking more like something that belonged on a dirt oval with bleachers than on a road race course, like the Ol' Yeller racers, it served well and surprised many who were more favored of road race cars like Ferraris. At Paramount Ranch in the 1950s Brock with the car at the Monterey Historics much more recently
