I know this is quite an old post, but robhart, if you are still planning this build I have quite a few period photos of this car. And the 1963 Falcon.

Greetings,
Something a little different to pursue with regards to reference materials is to chase old copies of sport car accessory catalogs via eBay and what vintage sports car venues you might frequent (not that all of us are so-graced). Consider using the search term 'HAAN', 'Vilem B. Haan', or perhaps 'MG Mitten' for starters. Prior to the arrival of musclecars, the postwar American sports car scene was rich and even when not front and center with the passage of time, nevertheless constituted a very dedicated and intense bunch of folks.
In-period and for being situated anywhere, the sports car accessory catalogs I've collected tend to be lavishly illustrated and dripping with detail consistent with cementing the sale for what were often very expensive cash outlays for all the latest stuff. For finding one or a few, the manufacturer of the seat, the driving lamps, as well as other things concerning a period rally car almost overflowing with equipment would come into view.
It's possible too that in the U.K., or with concerted application, across the continent proper, specialists with regards to maintaining and fielding period rally cars for revival events might showcase cars they've restored and/or maintain for well-heeled enthusiasts looking for a turn-key competitive experience. Such shops wish to telegraph how knowledgeable they are, how sensitive they can be in relation to evoking a period for seeing to all the period details concerning that which they restore or recreate, while whatever information such technical descriptions and work progress photos are afforded on their websites might be good to review. Those with big bucks and little time are oriented towards cash outlay in exchange for quality, while we in turn can look over the shoulder of the same people consistent with soaking in the scene. Anyhow, hoping some of this will help...
