Those are my favorite Cobras. Did they use 260s? I recall seeing a build of one in SA magazine a few years ago. I'm sure your build will have better info. What is your source for the Halibrand wheels?

These car ran a race spec 289. Wheels are from HRM (Historic Racing Miniatures) and tires are from Perry's Resin. Pretty sure HRM has these "Dunlop Racing" tires also.

HRM's FIA engine with coil and distributor from R&MCoMD. Other scratch built and kit bashed items thrown in.

Really nice detail work. Very convincing. I may need to get one of those engines. I need that style of valve covers for a GT40 project.

Looking good! Love the wheels. I'm beginning to think or getting a hint you kind of like Cobras, don't you? Thanks, Ismael

JC, The HRM GT40 trans kit has Weslake-Gurney heads and valve covers not like the near stock Cobra valve cover you are using, it is a cool kit and builds many other version GT40's but ... it is a good choice for other Weslake_Gurney builds too.. Chris

I thought a sand finish on the wheels would be more appropriate and I the wheels more this way.

Another Cobra? No complaints from me! I've never heard of too many Cobras. Keep calm and build on... --Frank

Another awesome Cobra build!
I have to take a little point about the header dumps. You say that you used 3.2mm rod. At .126", that's just a hair over 1/8". 4" in 1/25 scale works out as 4 / 25 = .160" 4" in 1/24 scale works out as 4 / 25.4 = .1574"
If you were modeling in 1/24: 4 / 24 = .167"
So 4" exhaust tubes would be best represented in 1/25 scale by 5/32" or .156" tubing or rod.
However, in the era (1963) that we are talking about here, 4" exhaust secondary pipes were considered awful big for a 289 cid engine in road racing (maybe not for gasser drag racers). 2.5 to 3" was typical for secondaries on small block V8 road race cars then. 3 / 25 = .125"
That means your 3.2mm rod is mighty close. And looking at the pictures you've shown, it sure looks right. 1/8" or 3mm rod would be right on. I really don't know where you ran across 3.2mm rod, but it's good. And in the world of models, whether it LOOKS RIGHT is even more important than whether it measures right.
Rivet counting session over for now. Model on sir!
