Hello, I have always been inspired by modelers who has demonstrated over and over again that a curbside can be a GREAT looking model. But most time my diagnosed " overcomplicaditis" gets in the way. So back in 2008, I did this build focusing on the paint scheme. By this time, the car was only a concept and had not been yet released to the public. Of course I couldn't leave it as is, so I did a racing inspired interior. The idea was to build a dual purpose car: A street legal driver (emissions inspection, license plate etc) for the week and a track warrior for the weekend. Obviously inspired by the Penske Camaros of the late 60's, I put a modern touch with the mirrors and deck spoiler in raw carbon fiber. Been such a quick build it has plenty of errors. The extinguisher is too big, I have no idea if the roll cage design is correct as I didn't get any reference, etc. etc. But I like how it looks. My favorite part is that the stripes are painted, not decals. This car made the cover on Model Cars Magazine back in 2008! Very nice! I wish the current Trans Am cars looked more like your model.

Very cool, Ismael! I agree with Rob, it would be great if this was the role model for the modern Tran Am.

Very nice! I wish the current Trans Am cars looked more like your model. It's what is needed to garner the interest of the masses. It could rely on nostalgic and factory momentum. Great fabrications in the interior. Nice detail.

I have agreed with that statement about Trans Am since the 1970s. I'm very fond of silhouette race cars like Group 5 or tube frame Trans Am and IMSA racers, I've worked on the full-size racers, but I feel a production-based race series SHOULD BE production-based race cars.
Nice job on the model.
