After giving it a good scrubbing I fabricated a front rail and a storage tray.

Cool project, I have several car trailers, I just think they are much over looked as a modeling subject.

Looking good! That looks like the trailer my uncle used to haul his race car back in the '70's

I remember that kit! As I recall, it was available by itself, as advertised in an enclosed flyer from another model, as a mail order item. The price was something like a gastley $1.49! Yes, it was a while ago! --Frank

It's a nice little kit Frank. However I think the tail light housing is a bit too thick so I fabricated something more in scale.

Nice JC.
I've always been fond of models of trailers and to a lesser extent, the tow vehicle to connect it too.
That trailer was available in a number of MPC kits over the years. Like the 1970 Chevy Impala or Caprice. I have one from the original issue of the Mako Shark II like yours. I raided the Mako chassis for use under an AMT Corvette. The trailer has had a number of different cars on it over the years. It's in for repairs. The original vinyl tires have dissolved the wheels some and the axle isn't straight any more. It has LOTS of negative camber. So some fabrication work and wheel replacement is called for.

Thanks Richard. Yea the trailer holds a car but it doesn't like it very much. I definitely wouldn't store a car on it long term.
