A curbside kit, this particular model represents the 1989 World Sportscar Championship season opening race at Suzuka (WSPC Suzuka) which the two cars (kit can be built to represent #61/#62) finished 1-2. They would hold this configuration throughout the season and finish 1st & 2nd in the Championship Points.

I have the Tamiya kit. How does it compare to this one?

I have the Tamiya kit. How does it compare to this one? Being full detail and well...Tamiya...it's probably a better kit in terms of building experience and all of that. Technically speaking the Tamiya kit is from the 1988 World Sportscar Championship and has a different sponsorship and was painted dark blue. It wasn't nearly as dominant (the silver 1989 cars won a combined 7 of 8 races), but it still finished 2nd in points.

Well that was what they got for painting a Mercedes blue! Change to the correct German Silver and step up the game a bunch.
