Can you please clarify any rules about making negative comments about vendors? It's something we ran into other forums and I feel it would be good just to clarify it now to avoid any future problems.
Here is an example:
"I placed an order with XYZ 6 months ago and have yet to receive it."
Would that be permissible?

While it is permissible, I would like to think the members here will use a little maturity and self control when posting negative comments about Vendors. Keep it clean , state the facts and try to make sure the facts are right! I deal with many vendors and somethings are out of their hands, like suppliers not coming through on their end, Weather, un-expected family situations etc. Try and understand many vendors dont do this for a living, they have full-time jobs or merely do it to support the hobby. That said, I have found situations where the Vendor was a rip off and it kept me from being burned . I do on occasion investigate Vendor complaints on the other boards and found them true as well as out of line! ... Chris Hale

Chris,
You might get some feedback from Jordan @ Open Wheel Modeling forum. The policy of Proboards is more restrictive I believe than what you state above. If I recall, there were some posts which were factually correct but Proboards suspended the board until Jordan went back and sanitized them. You can also but subjecting yourself to a lawsuit. However, most of the time, the judicious use of the delete key after the fact can take care of it.

I feel we should be able to state the facts as Stu outlined in his first post. No bashing but if you got taken or it took forever to get something, or it was not as advertised, that should be put out there to help the other members avoid a "situation" of their own. Maybe a simple "If you dealt with XYZ vendor & had a problem, please PM me". JMHO!

Guys, I am just asking that you use some discretion and consider the vendors side before acting. I have been all through the problem on OWRM and I would have stopped a bunch of it before it got too far. I dont need this kind of thing to start here. I am not here as a baby sitter but as a Model builder who saw a need and is trying to fill it.. at the same time I do appreciate knowing when there is a horrible vendor out there that might save other modelers a big hassle, choose your words carefully and post if it is really important! The simple "If you had a problem with xwyz PM me!" would be very acceptable! Chris
