Me and Art went to the American Flat Track Association finals at Perris Auto Speedway last night. I can't say that I have been a huge fan of motorcycle racing in the past, but after seeing the races last night I'm definitely enthused about seeing more flat track racing. The races were part of the Southern California Fair and the track was surrounded by brightly lit amusement park type rides, and food and carnival game stands. There was also quite a few manufacturer tents, souvenir kiosks, and a display of vintage flat track racing bikes. The racing was close, exciting, and as entertaining as any I've seen. The tickets were cheap too; $10 to get into the fair and another $5 to get in the track. The AFTA races at tracks all across the USA and if they run an event near where you live, I highly recommend taking in one their shows.
