I watched the first 6 hours and the last 6 hours and I was impressed, I thought it was a great race, although the merger of ALMA and Grand Am I believe will ruin US Endurance racing and put us at a greater distance to the FIA Series. Ever since Grand Am was bought by NASCAR I have had my serious doubts, and it looks like they are throwing huge amounts of money at Endurance racing to keep it separate from LeMans and the FIA series... They are going to limit the run what you brung, hi-tech European type cars and do away with important developments. Like restricting the Audi R8 (Grand Am) by not allowing traction control, ABS brakes, no side windows, and huge nets on the windows! What's next 4 barrel carbs and no wings like the other series!! Just saying Chris

I also have my doubts about the merger. Last summer I timed the SCCA C and D spec racers at Road America. Both were faster than the Daytona Prototypes. This summer at RA in August, BOTH ALMS and Grand Am are there the same week end. Care to guess the lap time dif's between the LMP cars and the DP's? I'll bet the GT cars are faster.......
