I forgot how much of a pain these IMC kits are but nonetheless here is one of the not so famous ones.

Yes, they are a pain but they can build up nicely. Great job. Did you protect your wheels from the nasty plastic eating tires? I always put a couple coats of shellac on any plastic that will touch those tires.

I've heard horror stories about those kits, but you have proved they can be turned into top shelf models.

Horror stories about the IMC Ford GT kits are just that. Stories. They were never level 1 model kits. But I built them (hell - a BUNCH of them) when I was a kid with no substantial difficulties. So I see no reason why modern adult builders should ever have any real issues putting one together, unless they limit themselves to snap kits and kits with little or no underside, suspension or engine detail...
They could use a little work on body panel closure at the edges. And the engines/gearboxes were a little undersized. The MPC Mark 4 and J Car were better in overall accuracy. But the IMC kits build into pretty nice models.
