I am seeing this kit is now being sold on eBay in the US. Has anyone got one, seen one, or a review anywhere?

Mine is still on pre-order at HobbySearch. The 1/12 scale builds here are providing a lot of information.

I see this kit is available for pre-order at Internethobbies.com for $79.99, knocked down from $99.99! This kit looks awesome, superb detail not lost from the scale down from 1/12. I wants but...looks like a big wait time for this kit. Didn't Polar Lights make a Ford GT40 Mk.II kit with Gulf livery? That might have to do for now.

None of my usual USA online resources has the kit in stock. But AK Interactive in England does list it as in stock. I'm hoping to buy two kits when they become available, but not for $99 plus shipping. I'm also leery about the actual kit molded details as all the pictures I've seen to date including on AK's site are CAD drawings, which looks like way more then one could realistically expect in a 1/24 scale kit Joel Good luck! That $99 price tag is the same as the 1/12th from some vendors here in the US for the Trumpeter/Magnifier. I wasn’t impressed with the Meng 1/12th as there were too many inaccuracies and the seats really sucked. Hope the 1/24th is better.

Paul on International Scale Modeler just did a review of the kit, and it's even better then the Cad drawings. I'm getting two for sure, and my Fujimi kits are back in the stash once again. The only down side of the kit is that it pretty expensive.

OK, I have seen some of the Video reviews and will share some of my thoughts.
Disclaimer, I do not have one in my hands. This is based on actual pictures and video, not the CAD drawings. My opinion may change when I do.
This is a mixed bag kit. It has high and low points.
The High points: The body looks good and the fit appears to be excellent. The engine bay cover makes it a must buy, if for nothing else, a master to scratch build a copy. The separate Gurney Bubble makes building other non-equipped cars easy. Has many of the items missing from other kits: Fujimi (1980's updated in 2000's)and IMC Mk II (Tooled in 1965, updated in 1966 and 68)kits. Love the window masks and seat belt material.
Low Points: much of the kit looks like a Snap-Fit kit. While it has an engine, its mediocre. I have a 427 Ford engine tooled in the 1960's by Revell that makes this look real bad. The carburetor is a joke. Looks nothing like one, not even the shape. Most of the rear suspension is a single piece-not good. Many of the details are exaggerated and have a clunky feel to them. Many of the parts look thick. A Major miss is the spare tire. It's missing! Sits under the front hood. Most of the front end under the hood is overly simplified. Decals are incomplete. Missing are the McLaren stickers for the window glass and NZ Fern on the driver's door for the 2 car, the Fluorescent Red for the #1 car (printed as red), and the Fluorescent Pink and Firestone Tire markings for the #5 car. (Shelby American used Goodyear Blue Streeks, Holman Moody used Firestone)
The kit is well tooled. Looks like they took great pains to minimize the injection mold pins and seams. Detail look sharp, just clunky and overly thick. It's obvious it wasn't well researched by the poor engine and exhaust part layout. The seats look suspect, it appears they had buttons instead of the rings (could be an optical illusion).
I'm sure I will have much more to say when I get one. I can see Meng selling 2-3 thousand to the US Market, but not 10's of thousands. 90% of the customers won't care about what I pointed out, but it's that 10% that would buy several if these details were correct. I'm not selling my Fujimi kits. From what I am seeing, the wheels, detail, and interior is superior to the Meng kit. I can use the Meng kit parts as masters to scratch build the missing panels.
This is a very nice effort. Lots of room for improvement though. It would be nice to see them issue the Mk.IIB from the 1967 season with the different nose and tail section that Shelby American raced and an Mk. IV. However I don't get a "warm, fuzzy" feeling that we will. Deep down I think this is a "wham, bam, thank you, Ma'am" effort to make some bucks off of the Ford vs Ferrari movie. Maybe when I get my hands on one my opinion will change. I just don't see the "love" and extra effort one see's when a company puts the time and effort into getting it right. Clunky details, thick parts, and some simplification of major components will keep me buying more than 2 (unless I find them for under $20 on a vendors table at a model show).

You make some good points Mark. I've yet to receive mine but I'll be looking to source a replacement engine. The lack of a spare wheel might be made up from my Fujimi spares. As a side note, the Holman Moody cars started on Firestones but their first pit stops showed chunks of tread missing so they switched to Goodyears.

Mark, Well, once again my bubble has been burst. From what you said, it sounds more like they scaled down their 1/12 kit and then left out what didn't fit. This is the 1st anyone has mentioned it Snap tite pcs. I'm looking forward to your in-depth review for sure.

A very good upgrade for a 427 Shelby Ford
Some mods needed for a GT40 but otherwise excellent. I have one in 1/12th, good value for the price.

Ooohhh that Model Builder's Warehouse is really tempting. The Ebay engine looks one piece printed which would really complicate conversion to a carbureted manifold and rerouted exhaust
