CONFESSION TIME, For the 1st time since I left aircraft modeling and started modeling race and sport cars, I've put down a kit, reboxed it, and to the bottom of the stash it went. Honestly, every work session became shorter in duration as I accomplished less and less. I actually started to look for reasons not to work on the kit. I've just lost interest, focus, any little to no enjoyment as I forced myself to continue with this build. So now I need to select a new build and get back on the winning track. Joel Joel, there's no shame in putting a build aside. Like so many before me have already said, I've got more pre-started builds than I care to admit to. In fact, I've got this same kit in pre-started limbo. public.fotki.com/2whl/my-models/building-2/lola-t-160-ts/2whl, that's for the support. it's much appreciated. I'm betting that you cross the finish line way before me. Joel

JC,
Very well said. I've always looked at the parts as just being parts of the whole, not a lot of wholes that create a larger, more encompassing whole model. I certainly need to look at my modeling more in those terms then just focusing on what the final "whole" will be. That will certainly keep me focused and hopefully with a full tank of Mojo through the envisioned build. But in my case with the Lola, nothing other then the bottom of the battery boxes was turning out as I intended them to. Frustration seemed to be my constant companion at the bench, and honestly after a while I just lost my direction and Mojo. I shared this ending point of the build for now because I honestly felt that for those members who took the time to read my updates, look at the accompanying pictures, even leave a post, deserved to know that the build has stalled, or even worse, gone as far as it's going to go and why. To just let it vanish didn't seem like the proper thing to do. That might seem old fashion, but it's part of my modeling mantra.
Joel

@ afx : Love that anecdote about the guy who brought in a model 12-volt battery, and the rest of the post. Never thought of it that way. Perhaps I shall, now. @ Joel_W: I avidly followed a superb build thread on another forum for a few months, and then it stopped getting updated. It was about a difficult kit I owned and was screwing together the courage to start. For months, nothing but crickets and tumbleweeds. I’d deeply admired the modeller’s skill, resilience, and sense of humor, and my concern was a bit beyond “Why isn’t this guy posting all the Magic Bean solutions for this kit anymore?” A while later, one of his friends posted that the thread-starter had taken ill and died. None of us who were glued to the thread were at all happy to hear it, but we appreciated knowing what had happened. Old-fashioned manners are still manners.

It does mean quite a lot to me. Joel
