I was at FSM about 7-8 years ago. Haven't been back since. The only other forum I currently post on is Open Wheel Racing Modeling. I also lurk on F1M.

I do remember your screen name from FSM now that I'm thinking about it. I've been over there for the past 9 years but lately I post over there in limited fashion. Get a lot of looks and almost no feedback now that a lot of the good builders have gotten smart and jetted off to other forums. Good to see you again.

mustang1989, The engine is more and more impressing as you continue to build it. Every bolt and nut seems to be there and each one looks the part. I'm shocked that MFH supplied the wrong distributor cap. have you contacted them about it? Seems that at this level of detail, scale, and certainly price, they did mold the right one, but someone mixed up the caps.

I think it was a mix-up with the CAD designers. The bare build-up on MFH's website has the 12 lead cap. And the directions show the wrong cap. I'm slowly getting more parts on the engine. 806

2whl, I see. I wonder why they haven't addressed it, as the kit is super expensive, and is supposed to be dead on accurate? Since you're using the 12 wire Cap, how are you going to handle the missing 4 wires?

Since you're using the 12 wire Cap, how are you going to handle the missing 4 wires? Joel Joel, it is a little disappointing considering the cost of the kit. I think the CAD designers try to get the kits as accurate as they can, but default to the 'it looks good enough' approach. I took a clue from the directions and decided to hide the fact that the cap is not correct. I am using the guides for the 8 leads. Then I am CA'ing in two leads on the bottom row and running the other 6 leads from the cap above them. the last picture has 6 leads going into the guide with 8 coming out. I've been also working on the intake assemblies. 872

2whl,
Now that's a great solution to the wiring issue. Looks darn perfect if you ask me. and those fuel injection lines with the injectors in 1/12 scale looks way better then anything I've ever tried in 1/24 or even 1/20 scale.
You just gotta know just how much I'm enjoying following your build.

Thanks Joel. I have a feeling more people are enjoying it also, just not commenting. And to follow up on how my sleight of hand worked out, here is the result of the left side spark plug wires. 887

Enjoying every update. I just realized this is a bigger scale model. Is this 1/12?

2whl, I'd say you're correct with a lot more of us just watching then commenting, but that's usually how it goes. You've gotten 41 posts which is great, and an amazing 926 views to date. So I'd say you're quite a popular guy these days.
Your distributor cap sure fooled me into thinking that there's 12 lead wires attached. I knew how you solved that issue and yet I can't see it. That my friend is work very well done.
And I'm still in awe of that fuel injection wiring. I'd love to up my scale to 1/12 limited run kits, and build what I really would love to build. But these kits are just way out of reality for a retired guy whose living on a fixed budget that going down hill fast as the market takes a beating like it hasn't since the depression with no end in sight.

Joel Joel, unlike some on this board, I look to see how many views I get. Not that the numbers matter to me, but it is nice to know my efforts are being seen. I got the ignition wiring done and the injectors on. Next up will be trying to get the fuel lines routed so they have a resemblance of something in the real world. 954

Awestruck doesn't begin to describe how I feel while reading your WIP! The fan housing looks so real! The only thing missing are the stress cracks!
