Thanks guys! Ahhhh.... Hmmmm..... In a pure glimpse of shear STUPIDITY, somehow, I dropped one of the doors while handling it. Gravity is a strong force. Some of the bodywork was damaged. Nothing major. It is already almost completely fixed, but not before a few choice words with myself... IDIOT! Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Last update for a while as I'm business traveling tomorrow. Doors have been attached. Passenger side door fixed after the little "incident". First complete primer coat. Thanks, Ismael

Hello gang, Just landed from my business trip to Houston. This was waiting for me in the mailbox. I know, orange ZR1s are a "cliché", but I really like it. Hope to get back to the workbench soon. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, First 3 very light coats of paint. How light? Look how much paint has been used. Yes, I took an orange car and stripped it to paint it orange. Never claimed to be normal... Thanks, Ismael

Hello, I think 6 months is enough for the color coat to dry to the touch, Right? First mist coat of clear. Still a long way to go but back at the bench. Thanks, Ismael

Your projects like this keep tempting me to repaint my Welly Lotus Elise. If I ever find some 1/24 metallic Lotus logos, I'm gonna do it.

Thanks Al! Same pic for multiple threads. Am I cheap or what? I think I'm done with the clear on the ZR1. Let it rest for a few days before start polishing. Thanks, Ismael

Just found this thread Ishmael, and I must say the stripper was worth the money.

Hello, I am really beginning to hate working on diecasts. I do it only because of the subject. Anyways, this sucker is polished. For the life of me I can't get a painted diecast to polish like a plastic model despite using the exact same primer, paint, clear and technique. Don't ask me why. It baffles me. What? Two days on a single decal? No wonder I never finish anything.... So I made a tape template of the roof. Transferred to a SMS CF decal and carefully cut it. Carefully but frighten as hell I applied it. Decal Sol worked beautifully. Coated it with Future floor polish but it needs to be polished. Some uneven marks look ugly from certain angles. I only show pictures that look good Thanks, Ismael

Not sure why the coating doesn't polish up like it would if it were laid down on plastic. You'd think that paint would be paint/ clear and it would polish up alright. Hang with 'er Ismael.
