Thanks, Ismael

Next up was exhaust headers , I made new Flanges, the took the Kit small block headers and split the individual pipes apart , the I spread them out to match the Porsche spacing, pinned the pipes and glued them to the flanges. This allowed me to use the Kit headers and retain the look of the original exhausts... next is the transmission, mating the Grant King trans to the Porsche Bell housing, almost done will show photo when complete... Well, as someone who works on a local sprint car team in Indiana and has driven by the original Grant King shop many times, I absolutely love this idea. Our car owner was actually good friends with grant and exclusively ran his midgets and sprint cars way back then. I can totally see someone in the sprint car world trying something like this too! Just great.

That is awesome! I like it when someone thinks outside the box. I turned a Ferrari 250 GTO into a dirt track car. 😁

Thanks Guys, I have been busy putting things together, planning, its not as simple to put a Porsche engine with this wide V as one would think but I got it worked out including a Unique Hood.. Because the heads, Cam covers stick out so much and the Lucas Fuel injection is pretty wide apart on the top I came up with this center section that serves as the main part of the hood. Today I will be working on blending it in the body In the mean time I am working on adapting the Sprint car transmission to the bellhousing, making assorted parts for installation . I have come up with a Livery that I think will look very cool, no pics on that until its on the car.. more soon Chris

I like the idea, but can you run a Porsche engine in a sprint car?

Chris, The Porsche engine really looks like it belongs in that sprint car chassis.
