Paul, I do see a shadow around the inside of the frame. But with my very poor eyesight what it is past that, I'll certainly take your explanation.
I've finally started my 1st 1/12 scale build doing body/decals/finish 1st, and am almost up to the point of starting a build thread on it. Just hope that it's half as good as your Tamiya BT44B. Even this old kit has a over whelming number of parts and details.

Paul, I see. But wouldn't the window frame be on the top of the window. Sure sounds from your description that it could very well be a rubber gasket. joel For some reason they designed the car with the window on top of the frame

After a couple of weeks of drilling holes and fitting parts, I'm finally able to show some progress. 452

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I got some time to paint the interior body panels. Then I mocked them up. It still looks like everything will go together without problems. I also got the wheels and tires finished. Why is it I have an over-riding desire to finish them at the start of a build? Carbs are almost done. Each one shown here has 21 parts to it. A start on the side pipes. I saved this till last. I have found that the amount of light and the temperature of it has a lot to do with the appearance of color. A lot of people obsess about matching the color of their model using reference pictures without taking into account the lighting in said picture. The next two pictures are of the EXACT same spoon. The first was taken outdoors on a sunny day, but on the shady side of my house. The second was taken indoors but only using the light coming in from outside. The spoon was first painted with Tamiya grey primer, then sprayed with TS-19 Metallic Blue. This will be my choice for the body color. 568

Paul, Just amazing progress for sure. Just love how those wheels and tires came out. As for the engine/transmission, as usual it's a dead ringer for the real deal. The 4 carbs just look sensational.
As for the change of color based on the light, I'm assuming that the Kelvin temp of the light has a lot to do with it. The top picture white portion of the spoon is a purer white then the white of the spoon in the 2nd picture. The actual Tamiya rattle can paint should be a perfect match.

Looking excellent and I also have the habit of doing wheels first.I have wheels done for kits I may never build but at least I got a start!
