The decals/transfers are looking good. I had completely forgotten that Walter Payton raced in Trans Am.

To build the Whistler car more correctly than out of box, one needs the 4 cylinder turbo engine from the Monogram Miller Beer/Ford Motorsport Zakspeed IMSA Mustang. Mods would be required to get the turbo plumbing right, but the engine is the same.
Yes Trans Am and IMSA GTO cars of the era are rather complex race cars. Note the IRS with quick change center section, and the laydown rocker arm shock mounts for the rear suspension in those Whistler pics. The Corvette I worked on had rear suspension design and rear uprights straight from a Lola T332 F5000 formula car. The only single piece on the car from Chevrolet was the metal frame for the windshield glass. Not even in the engine were there any Chevy parts. That car was built in the 80s when the rules required factory roof. That's why the windshield frame was Chevy. The rest of the roof got replaced with aftermarket fiberglass by the time the car came to me.
IIRC, the Tom Gloy Mustang(s) of that era was built by Roush. Could be wrong at that though as I didn't hear it 1st hand. It was pit gossip.

Those pix are better than the ones I saw yrs ago. Best of luck. Before I "retired" from building I was well along on the Rain-X camaro. I, too separated body sections. Best o' luck. Count your blessings you had overtime work. Lots of folks would luv more hours. Me, at 73 I'm done with all that, tho I'm still need to be busy. THANX!

Outstanding build for sure. I've got a few Mustangs in the stash covered in dust that your build has me taking a 2nd look at.
