Ismael, You're doing an excellent job correcting all the mold issues. Just one question, why do you feel it's necessary to include the damage to the fender panel? You could do your model as pre-race instead. Joel

Joel, The goal is to present the car as it was after the race. Why? I can come up with a lot of excuses from "I suffer from OVERCOMPLICADITIS", to "Before the race, it was just one of many. After the race it was the winner", to "Because it is a Ford" Truth is: I don't know. I'm a sucker for accuracy (especially historical) and realism. Maybe I like to challenge and push myself. By the way, I've never claimed to be normal!!! Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Alright, now we are talking. There are many hours on this body just to get to the primer stage. Now the primer will be worked before starting with colors. Performance Red will be first, then Frozen White and finally the Competition Blue, all from Gravity colors USA. Thanks, Ismael

Usually it's lighter to darker, yet you've sandwiched the White in between, just making it harder for the white3 not to have bleed through. Is there any reason why you opted that paint procedure? Hi Joel, It is because of the masking. The red is easy to mask off but the white would be very tricky to mask where it meets the red. Lacquer paint performs good in that respect. I will also try to mask any hard to reach area and proceed carefully to minimize overspray. I am not the biggest fan of this paint scheme but that's what history threw at me I was hoping to do some painting soon but I need to leave town on work travel.
Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Just as I suspected (and not surprisingly with multi-piece bodies) test fitting showed some unacceptable gaps. So I started adding some material (styrene strips) to tighten the gaps: Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, I went back and took a careful look at the paint scheme. Either way it's not going to be easy. Joel

Hello, Back home from my work trip. First burst of color! I'm not a big fan of red. Actually, the last time I painted a red car was back in 2006 (Magnetic red tricoat C6 Corvette). First 2 coats. I see a few spots where I may need to sand down some imperfections before another coat but I'll wait for it to dry for a good assessment. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Is the primer from a rattle can or shot from an Air Brush? Joel

Hi Joel,
That's from a rattle can as it will be sanded down almost to nothing. BTW that's my favorite primer: T235. Love that stuff.
Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Finished with the red, at least for now. Let it dry and masked. White has been airbrushed. Will let dry for a few days before masking for the blue. Thanks, Ismael
